Commissioner Emeritus Marsha Anderson Bomar

Marsha D. Anderson Bomar is currently the Interim Commissioner of the Atlanta Department of Transportation. Previously, she served as Assistant General Manager of the Metropolitan Atlanta Regional Transit Authority for Capital Program Delivery. Her expertise spans transportation planning, traffic engineering, land development, transit operations and capital programs. She is passionate about incorporating sustainability principles in projects and meeting at the intersection of community, transportation and sustainability. 

Ms. Anderson Bomar has served as an elected official, Councilmember and Mayor Pro Tempore for the City of Duluth, Georgia and works to encourages others with a strong technical background to consider serving. Marsha is also featured as Extraordinary Woman Engineer in ASCE publication entitled, Changing Our World, True Stories of Women Engineers, and has served as President of the ASCE Transportation and Development Institute and as in International Board member. Currently, she serves as the ASCE Treasurer.
